CHINESE HISTORY AND CULTURE

Beginning with the history of China’s Terracotta Army, lecturers will explore Chinese history and culture. As the eighth wonder of the world, the Terracotta Army, dating from 210 B.C., was discovered in 1974 in Xi’an China. Lecturer Heng You, who visited the Xi’an Terracotta Museum in 2007, will focus her discussion on the history of the Qin Dynasty and the meaning of the Terracotta Army in Chinese history. Other discussion topics will include acupuncture and the Chinese concept of “Face.” Heng You, a Temple University graduate, in addition to five other Chinese scholars, will lead these discussions.
