Prerequisites: Familiarity with the ArcGIS 9.x system. What better way to determine how a design proposal will fit into an existing site than seeing it in three dimensions! Three-dimensional GIS modeling provides an easy way for you and your clients to visualize how a project will affect the natural and built environment. You will learn how to create photorealistic 3-D building models in SketchUp and integrate your creations into your ArcGIS 9.x system. Learn about surface models, creating 3-D surfaces, and draping aerial photographs over surfaces while discovering how to display trees, roads, cars, streets, and much more — all in three dimensions! A brief overview of how to display and navigate 3-D data in ArcScene will also be provided.
