BUDDHIST MEDITATION: VIEW, PRACTICE, AND FRUITION
Please bring a meditation pillow or a regular (standard size) bed pillow to class. Sorry, we are no longer accepting registrations for this course. Please contact our office to find out if it will be rescheduled, or if alternative classes are available. Course DescriptionDiscover the practices of shamatha (calm abiding) and vipashyana (insight) meditation, along with the principles that substantiate both. Each class will include a thirty minute practice session with guided meditation; a lecture addressing the philosophical and psychological principals surrounding our in-class practice; and a class discussion, intended to integrate personal experience with the material. This course is an excellent introduction to the challenges and benefits of working directly with our life experience through the practice meditation. |
