Course Description

Join us as we read more prize-winning authors, and great storytellers whose ways with language make their work vivid, poignant and memorable. We begin with the inestimable Edith Wharton's The House of Mirth, followed by Alice McDermott's latest novel, Someone. Next we read William Maxwell's lyrical and semi-autobiographical The Folded Leaf, and follow with favorite Jess Walter's Beautiful Ruins. We end with Nobel Laureate Alice Munro's last and luminous work, Dear Life. Feel free to bring a snack or bag lunch.
